About me

I am a researcher within the IDK International Environmental Humanities program ‘Rethinking Environment’ at the University of Augsburg. I am interested in development studies, especially the shortcomings of rural development interventions. In this program, I am learning more about how development intervention projects for environmental sustainability related topics approached conceptually, methodologically, and analytically. I have received Master of Science at Cornell University (Community-Based Natural Resource Management) and Bachelor (Environmental Sustainability and Anthropology) at the American University of Central Asia, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

On Rural Development in Kyrgyzstan: An Impact Assessment of Intervention Projects

?

About the project: Over the past almost three decades, there have been many rural development interventions, and innovative ideas and practices on behalf of environmental agendas such as climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability of resources and livelihoods in Kyrgyzstan. Yet, the extent to which some of these development interventions have been relatively impactful, effective, and successful is a subject for debate and research. The scope of my current study is to understand the outcomes revealed in those intervention projects by various environmentally concerned individuals, groups, development organizations, and environmental activists.
