We deal with various aspects of embedded systems. The main area of ??application of our research is safety-critical systems, i.e. computer systems in which, generally speaking, errors can have costly or even catastrophic effects. Examples of this are the computer systems in aircraft, drones and automobiles, but also medical devices such as pacemakers and 'smart' infrastructures. These computer systems are subject to particularly high correctness requirements, which must be taken into account early in the development.
?
The focus of our research is on processors and architectures as well as on analysis and modeling of the non-functional properties, such as the real-time behavior, the energy consumption and security.

The chair for embedded systems also continues the research of the chair for system-related computer science and communication systems on fault-tolerant systems.
