To qualify for entrance into a degree programme leading to a first professional qualification a German or foreign higher education entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, HZB) is required. At the University of Augsburg, this is an admission requirement for entrance into bachelor's degree programmes, including Eucation degree programmes, the German magister degree in Catholic Theology, Human Medicine - Augsburg Competency-Based Medical Program, and Law. A higher education entrance qualification can be acquired as a general or subject-specific qualification. Those with a vocational qualification can also acquire a general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.

Please note: An entrance qualification for study at a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife) does not entitle the holder to study at the University of Augsburg. Please note the following information with the different types of higher education entrance qualification.
